Renovation of Ritter residential building, Chur
Transformation.
The existing building was built in the 1960s and was in a relatively good condition in terms of its foundations.
The challenge was to renovate 95% of the building without compromising its original inner charm.
Regarding the profile itself:
A single-family dwelling is always something very personal. Hence the idea of leaving a personal "footprint" behind during construction. The silhouettes of our family served as the design template for the facade profile. Knowing that we could have chosen any other type of profile was in fact the conceptual difference with this design. It was not about making our faces visible to everyone, but rather about keeping the expression of the building abstract yet very personal. In this sense it is also a percent for art project.
