At this point in History, energy consumption has become a priority of Architecture.

We are interested in passive house, the one whose morphology and finishes make it able to work with minimal energy input.

This dwelling in Boadilla del Monte (Madrid) develops these principles as a backdrop.

The piece is placed on a slope and the volume is strategically perforated in order to achieve that each room receives south orientation.

The structure is made of Cross
Laminated Timber, raised in just three days, and wrapped with 10cm thick of isolation which
provides an efficient coat to the housing.

We choose an acrylic mortar as the last layer of the facade because of its waterproof, stable and durable properties.

The color for most of the
envelope is light gray, which avoids overheating by solar radiation and provides a neutral and
inconspicuous tone from the street.

This decision emphasizes the living colors for the patios: green and yellow, which are only discovered when you already are in the path of access to the house.

The contrast of colors enhances the importance of these transition spaces between
home and garden, while define them as more domestic sites and independent from the rest of
the facade.

Both patios are located such that it is impossible to see them at a time unless you
are in the kitchen, which not coincidentally, is one of the most important rooms in the home.
