Several heritage buildings were reconstructed in Košice under the Cultural Capital of Europe programme.
The most significant of them was KULTURFABRIK, which had formed from the complex of former military barracks.
In Slovakia, this represented the extraordinary investment in the cultural infrastructure.
The authors managed to sensitively
restore and pay respect the original condition of the buildings dating back to the early 20th century.
By applying sensitive measures, also while installing heat insulation, they were able to preserve the classic look of the buildings.
The white silicone paint shines throughout the area.
It is complemented by wood fragments, cast iron columns, architectural concrete and mirror walls.
Among others, the object received the major, socially-recognised award – Crystal Wing.
