I. BUILDING DATA
A Hungarian photographer from Targu Mures starts the project his personal house in 1904.
On a wide plot of land on the street Gheoghe Doja, the succession construction occupies an unexpected place.
It is retracted from the street on a dominant position, in the hill crest.
The slope remained free becomes an organized park by a stone paved winding alley.
The house and the park known under the name Csonka are enclosed on the list of historic monuments of Romania.
A family of Romanians takes over the site degraded by recent history and turns it into a family business with a hotel profile.
The new construction occupies respectfully the free space behind the plot.
The architecture with simple lines becomes a background for the rehabilitated historic building.
The lodging spaces with a simple tract confer a long silhouette to the building. The intimacy of the orientation of the rooms is provided for.
The newly created interior yard is animated by transparent level circulations and by the presence of the old house.
Total built area: 4730 squ.m.
Total facade finishing area: 1950 squ.m.
