The family house is located in a popular residential district close to the centre of Brno, just a few steps from Villa Tugendhat.

It is the last house in a row of pre-war development.

Even thought it doesn’t look so, the proposed conversion to a large extent respects the original construction of a two-floor cellared house with a partially-habitable attic.

Towards the garden, the ground plan of the house is enlarged by an offset partially-covered terrace; towards the street it is divided by terraces created by receding upper floors.

The diversity of the street facade is soothed by horizontal strip windows; the simple yard facade is enriched with playful shapes of the windows.

The rugged volume is united by white plaster combined with dark grey window frames.

The disposition is traditional – social premises are in the elevated ground floor, the leisure area is located on the upper floor, and in the extended attic there is a partially-separate housing unit.

The basement serves as a technical facility with space for relaxation and fitness.
