The Bratislava Castle is perhaps the most important monument in Slovakia.
Its reconstruction dating back to 1960’s involved the use of modernist methodology of preservation with poor quality of the construction implementation.
Therefore, the current reconstruction was highly demanding not only in terms of its scope, but also quality and methodology.
Serving as the seat of the top state representation bodies, the implementation was the subject of extraordinary requirements.
The most appropriate shades of white colour were sought during the construction.
The highly visible position and the size of the façades also required the guaranteed colour stability.
Particularly demanding were the details and fragments of the facades in contact with the bossage and stone details.
The castle’s current silhouette is the icon of Slovakia. It dominates the Danubian landscape even when viewed from a distance.
