The House of Energy, a multifunctional office building with an apartment for the operations manager/company director at the Passive House Plus Standard.

As well as the building principals Markus Mayer and his company AIROPTIMA, the building is the new headquarters for companies from the fields of architecture, housing technology and social media.

A building with pioneering technology combined with a perfectly insulated building shell.

A ground-coupled heat pump supplies the building with any residual heating required and also with warm water.

It draws its energy from deep probes inside the plot of land.

In order to generate the renewable energy for the ground-coupled heat pumps, ventilation equipment and the general electricity supply, extensive photovoltaic systems have been installed on the roof of the building and the garage.

Initial calculations indicate that these produce ca. 52,000 kWh/a.

This renewable source of electricity, which is used predominantly to power the building in accordance with the Renewable Energy Sources Act, is guaranteed produce more than the entire energy consumption of the building and its operations - a balanced “plus” building!

And last but not least, the shell of the building must fulfil its requirements.

The building principal decided on the ETICS Star System well in advance.

This meant that detailed solutions appropriate to building sites could be agreed and clarified in advance.

The deployment of pre-fabricated shutter boxes and EPS corner elements are examples of this.

In particular, the material of the ETICS construction was colour-coordinated to the façade.
